So I just got the game, and it seems pretty fun, even though I've been playing for a measly fifteen minutes.
It has a pretty cool storyline though. A bit confusing at first, but definitely easy to understand.
I'm new to this game, so don't expect me to know much, but I will soon, no doubt.

What's your thoughts on Fallout 3?

Needs more groin shots.

Seriously in fallout 1 and 2 you can target the groin using VATS.

There were also giant scorpions where 'brain' and 'head' were two separate areas you could target.

Ah.. the good old days of Fallout 1 and 2. Played them both to death; 120+ hours in each.

Fallout 3, aside from having a bug that forced me to update my drivers (lazy me!), is jaw-dropping. I'm a Fallout fanatic, and I've played the series since it first came out.. when I was 8.

I'm sad the groin shots disappeared from VATS, but I'm amazingly happy with the continuation of the Fallout series "feel" in gameplay. I feel like I'm still searching for that purification chip (..repairing pipes, now..), and still looking for the GECK (which is a downloadable mod making tool coming out this month, haha). I love all 12 hours I've played on it since buying it on Friday.
The cinematic VATS-Kills are godly, too.

i love just running in a direction randomly in the waste and discovering things i've never seen before.

Hmm, the bug doesn't happen to make the game somewhat laggy does it?
Cause that seems to be the case with mine right now.

You're a rare breed. Almost all of the old school Fallout fans I've met hated FO3 because, to them, "It's not like 1 or 2." I heard it get called a failed attempt at an open world RPG as well.

But that aside, I love FO3. It's so addicting. I think my sig gives away how much i like it.

Also, how do you get the dog?(I think his name is Dogmeat. I think.)

Yes, Dogmeat. You've got to find that one out yourself; but I'll tell you that you dont get the real Dogmeat with the perk that lets you train animals. You have to find the real Dogmeat in a city.

All the old school Fallout fans I've met and heard of complained that it detracted from the original feel of Fallout by making things pretty looking. I disagree completely with that. The feeling, emotion, and loneliness of the original series is still there, as is the "on your own" feeling you get. When you have companions, you really feel a sense of companionship, cause they're keeping you alive. If anything, the new graphics, story, plot, and setting breathe new life into the game by allowing you to become more immersed in the lore of Fallout than the previous hardware allowed. You no longer simply see the ground, you can see the skies and the destroyed skyscrapers in their entirety. You feel the true scope of war.

Haha.. my little Fallout Fanatic rant. I'm seriously a Fallout freak. Like I have a Fallout fetish or something o.O

I agree with just about everything there. I haven't played the other Fallouts, but from what I've seen, it looks like it's hard to get the feel of it actually being a post-apocolyptic environment.

My only problem, the ending. I won't say anything else. Other than that, great game.

two things
1st: Oblivion was fun (although not as much as morrowind methinks)
2nd: Fallout does not feel like Oblivion with guns, although it does look like Oblivion set in 2150 or whatever year it is though

Tanner was way off base here, I think.

Fallout 3 is nothing like Oblivion with guns. It is a completely unique experience from Oblivion. People are entirely quick to associate the two because they are both Bethesda Productions, and I say shame to you folk. It's obvious to me, and anyone with half the eyes they claim, that Fallout 3 is actually just Morrowind with guns.

The only Oblivion feel in it is the look of the environment. But that's because it uses the same engine. only updated.

I found Dogmeat. I then sent him to look for ammo and haven't seen him since. What's the deal with that.

then i climbed a nearby metal scaffolding that looked like the remains of a highway overpass.

he fell off, and died.

The connections drawn between oblivion and Fallout are apparent in such things as the character selections(Bethesda does the beginnings a lot alike, but that is because they do it well and it works), the astounding graphics, and the ways you interact with people, but the game itself is completely unique. The landscape is beautiful, the shooting and weapons are awesome, the quests are free roaming, and I've only played it for about 5 hours. It is definitely one of those games which will always be amazing. Fallout 4 is already something to wait for now that Bethesda is doing them and has revived the series.

So... I have this for my PC. I have yet to beat it, but I'm just cheating like mad. You may think it's silly, but I only do it to mess around. I love the Oblivion engine, and I love to cheat in that engine. Anyway, here is what I have done. It's only one image for now, but it's a good one.

Also, A. I'm a giant, and B. I am allied with Liberty Prime...we are the ultimate duo.

A) I want your gfx card. Now.
B) Exactly what cheats allowed you to have a shrunken liberty prime as a party member?(the grass gives it all away.)
C) Enjoying the Tesla armor, I see.

The only time I cheat is on killing sprees in which I don't save, or if I find a lock that has a difficulty level that pisses me off.(like, having a 95 lockpick skill and finding a level 100 lock.)

I do visit the testing hall every so often to get some "fuel" for my spree's. And I found out they have something called Prototype Medic armor. It's power armor that talks to you. And I have not a clue where such a thing would be.

A) No
B) Like I said, we're giants. Don't believe me? I'll show you.. in Fullscreen.
c) God yes, it looks so amazing...

Also, The Experimental MIRV is complete overkill... It fires 8 Mini-Nukes in a shotgun fashion...

it's accessible only on the computer.
click to find out.

to get to it, enter the command bar by pressing ~ and type "coc testqaitems" and you get teleported to it. to get out, type "coc megatoncommonhouse"

Just make sure you didn't blow up megaton when you do this. God knows what havok that'd cause.
