the most badass starcraft tournament i've ever seen. first and second rounds were horrible to watch if you were rooting for zerg. unfortunately, i was rooting for terran AT THE TIME, thinking jae was playing terran. MY MISTAKE! once i realized my horrible misunderstanding, my faith in jae and his handsome face and ample figure, he proceeded to epically battle with flash and effect an early zerg rush, evening the score at 2-2.

UNFORTUNATELY, jae lost the last round due to flash being a total jerk with his medicked stim marines and sciLAME vessels.
flash got $52k
jae walked out with only $17k.

anyone follow this?
thoughts?
remorse?
do you want to go gay for jaedong? (i do)

bisu is also one handsome stud (click)
Image
I am glad you liked it! it was fun watching and shouting about the game with you, lol

there are pretty regular tournaments and other events so checking someplace like teamliquid.net with a big listing and stream locations is cool.

Also, let's play starcraft! :D

goddamn sexy koreans!

And do you have SC2?

I mostly cheer for IdrA, TheLittleOne and WhiteRa.

Is there some sort of internet area where I can vidi these matches after the fact? If it is... less than promotable on these forums, I would love a PM.

Some great places to see the latest games are the Youtube channels of Day9, HuskyStarcraft, and HDStarcraft. With major tournaments, there are often live streams but very rarely do they host the videos. Those guys are all pro-casters, so you'll get some great commentary as well. It is important to note that all of these guys are casting SC2 games now, while the final that sidke is talking about is still done using SC1. (Because of the lack of LAN, tournament support, and possible balance issues.)

With this final in particular, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_mxhXnLUVM

I have concluded from a thorough viewing of the tournament that Flash is a douche.

Flash and JD have always been huge rivals, so this was a fun tourney to watch.

My friend got me into starcraft a couple of weeks ago and linked me some WCG 2009 videos. Man these guys are just too good, the matches are really fun to watch but I don't really follow them.

spoiler

Orange- N cannot be spoken, or even thought about in my household. If my parents ever found out that I have played N since the cleansing, my life would be ruined. I keep the game in a multi-passworded .rar on a USB flash drive inside a locked boron alloy container that requires two keys to open (I keep one under the 64th hammer in my piano, and the other one in a small section of removable ceiling in the corner of the attic) hidden in a wall compartment lined with aluminium foil to prevent sonar detection behind my 375 kg cupboard, which is bolted to the floor - the only way to reach it is to abseil outside the fourth floor window and use a screwdriver to unfasten the screws holding the secret brick in place on the opposite side of the wall, but the screwdriver must be a specific type like the one I own, since if any other screwdriver comes into contact with the screws, the entire building will explode, as will a seperate charge placed inside the boron alloy container, rendering the USB useless. Even once the container is retrieved, attemping to open it without the arming pin in place (which is kept inside the battery compartment of my Maglite) will cause the water reservoirs lining the container to burst and react with the caesium lining, causing the container to burst into flames - the only way to prevent this is to use the arming pins to shut off the reservoirs with a sliding steel door. The USB itself contains an accelerometer linked to an explosive charge, meaning that if the USB detects its own movement speed as being greater than 5 cm/s, it will explode - any person attempting to steal it would have to move at a uselessly slow speed. Once plugged into a computer, the USB will upload a ghost virus onto it, leaving no traces. Only the right password can deactivate this virus, and if it is left on the computer for more than six hours, it will format all drives.

As you can see, I take my N playing very seriously.

Guiseppi- I'd much rather watch animals get boned in the ass.

Yanni- If it's glad, it's not rape.

Tsukatu- I refuse to use throw-away bags for such a frequent purpose as buying groceries. Instead, I've collected the hair of my two pet dogs and have woven them together into an all-natural, 100% environmentally friendly bag that I bring with me everywhere. And when I buy products that come in glass and plastic containers, I track down the company that packages them and ship back their containers so that they don't take up space in landfills.

Yeah, I use plastic.

Tsukatu- I hear Ebony Online is great, too. Cum save your princess, my lord!

Ska- UR MUM LIKE IS SPICY

Ska- why d i get the feeling what i typed will end up in the quote depository; or worse: someone's sig.

KinGAleX- I did it on the couch a little while ago.

Zeph- I got too pissed at the knife in the end so I just broke the wood on my knee

I'm actually fascinated by the amount of tiny OCD tics these guys appear to have. If you skip to the rare screencast of Jaedong's screen, for example, you'll notice that he obsessively selects and re-selects his drones constantly, and Flash likes to spam the shit out of the "move here" order.
Besides which, I've never managed to understand why Flash instigates all the SCV vs drone chase sequences he does. It's not like they end up happening anywhere close enough to Jaedong's base that he can use his SCV to spy on him, and he only attempted to be a total dick and build a base directly above Jaedong in, like, the first round (if I understood that correctly).

^I've been told the obsessive need to always be doing actions is basically a giant dick swinging thing to get your actions-per-minute up.

No, no.

Randomly selecting your SCV's when you have nothing to do gives you an idea as to whether or not your minerals are fully saturated. You can only have three SCV's on a patch before it stops being beneficial; two is preferred by most players.

Not to mention, Flash and Jaedong have no -need- to get their APMs up. Granted, in some SC clans, APMs are rated as highly as wins, but on the professional circuit, these guys do not waste clicks.

As far as SC2 goes,

THIS game (Korean) is among the most spectacular Zerg games I've seen. (vs. Protoss. The Protoss mismanaged and could have won but damn.)

that was such an amazing use of Nydus worms, seriously. He made Idra look like a gigantic fool of a zerg player!

also, Flash just beat free[gm], so there is going to be ANOTHER Flash vrs. Jaedong finals for the Korean Air Starleague. Maybe JD can get revenge this time!

Updated thread. Tomorrow, the first SC2 tournament and the biggest esports tournament in terms of cash comes to a thrilling conclusion, with A Fruit Dealer, formerly SC1 pro Cool as Zerg going up against HopeTorture, formerly SC1 pro IntoTheRainbow, as Terran. All of their games have been sick and, despite perceived balance issues between Zerg and the other races, A Fruit Dealer has outplayed every person he's gone up against.

If anybody is going to be awake at around 5AM EST, they are welcome to use my account to watch the game live. (Otherwise it would cost you twenty bucks.) If not, the streams will likely go up on Youtube or you can ask me to borrow the account any time afterwards to watch the VODs. It's going to be a best of seven, and it's going to kick ass.

just got starcraft 2... i was having trouble getting the hang of it, struggling on campaign missions and then finally getting owned in a 1v1 match online. after i watched the hasu vs TheLittleOne (protos vs terren) i replayed the missions that i wasnt doing so well on and got my army size to double and my credits to skyrocket almost quadruple then before i watched the vid.

slapps when you gonna be online man? i could use a friendly skirmish match :P still getting used to everything (ive only played terran) but i think i could give ya a hard time at least :P also, anyone that has sc2 my username is DethChikkin

EDIT: jesus... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmYhX8fj ... r_embedded
