That is the best OS so far. Too bad Microsoft won't release anymore SP for Win XP.
Don't we already have a thread for this, anyway?

My 4 year old laptop!
I'll post my desktop later when I'm actually on it

It's odd, my rating is SUPPOSED to be 5.9, but for some reason Vista doesn't pickup the fact that my CPU is 3.6 GHz... Oh well, 5.8 is still awesome. Also, Tunco, why did you cover yours? Afraid it's too low?

And my desktop!
The 6 GB of RAM isn't for dick swinging purposes, it is because I initially had 2 GB when I built this comp, last summer I wanted to upgrade to 4 GB, but it turned out that the cost difference between buying 2 more GB and buying 4 more GB was only $10 (for the brand I wanted, to match what I had), so I just sprung for the 4 GB kit, leading to my ridiculous 6 GB.
However, the additional breakdown of the Windows Experience Index I'm posting is entirely for dick swinging :D

Impressive WEI, smartalco. If I were you I'd probably be tempted to run a Raid 1 just to improve the disk reading.

I wish it rated computers based on the average instead of the lowest score. Comparing my computer to Slaps, his is significantly better overall, but I'm only 0.2 points behind him because of our lowest scores. Stupid move by M$

Based entirely on those scores, I'm going to guess your components
Some form of AMD Phenom 2 quad core, around 2.8ghz
4gb DDR3 RAM
nVidia GTX 260/Core 216/280 or ATI Radeon 4870
Some random generic 500gb SATA HD
So how close am I?

Not going to bother with a screen shot since I'm on vista at the moment and maxes out at 5.9 but on my win7 install i got 7.9 rating. Guess the CPU.

Eh, I thought that might be high since it is so expensive, but I don't think Windows will actually rate anything an 8, so you have the highest score. Probably a 940 or 950 then?

7.9 is the highest possible score in Windows 7.
