Hey everyone, im an indie programmer and I've been working on a 2D Platform RPG Shooter.
Its called Virus Effect, its free to play, you just have to make an account to have saved games, battle enemies, and buy upgrades.

Virus Effect <- Web Site, the game is a Java Applet

We are about to update the tiles and change up the maps. Everything will be slightly more exploration, and actual direction based. But for now I would like to hear all your thoughts.

Thanks.

Yeah we just got another pixel artist, Ryan. He is a marine currently stationed in Japan right now. He is going to completely redo most of the old graphics, so a new character, and finally some equipment to put on. I'll tell him about the reload animations you suggested.

Thanks, this just drives me more to keep going.

We have added a few things to the game and website. A kill counter, and a leaderboard to display top players.
I also added a few sprites to the crates to give more feedback on how damaged they are.

Check it out, Virus Effect

Oh yeah I meant to say. You need better firing sounds for the pistol and AK47 (They cut out a lot) and reload sounds for both as they sound bad quality. The small blob enemies should take 2 shots to kill with the pistol not 3(Right now 2 shots makes it look as if it should be dead).

Yeah, i have received a bunch of new sounds, so i'll be fixing up most of them, when we have the next big update. We are also working on variations of enemies and new enemies. So stuff like that will be fixed.

I finally added a quick medical center, the city will be changed with the bigger updates tremendously. As will the game style.

Thanks.
