two games that are equal in how enjoyable and challanging they are. however, I found Crash 2 much harder than Crash 3, and I think Spyro 2 was much, much better than Spyro 3.

I've played Crash Bandicoot 2 and the first Spyro the Dragon game. Spyro was a particular favorite of mine, recently I've been jonesing for another go at that game.

Spyro Year of the Dragon easily beats Ripto's Rage.

I'm a huge fan of the original Spyro games. Spyro > Crash.

I love Crash Warped, but the Spyro games recently got rebought on the suggestion of Techno. The first was amazing, the second one, a thousand times suprerior. I can't get into Year of the Dragon at all, though. :/

I think the original 2 Crash Bandicoot games were the best, with the 2nd being the superior one.

I also think that all the games from the crossover onwards are rubbish.

I must say, the second had the best replay value of the three.

Not exactly. Spyro's story can be deep, but I love Crash's platfrom-action gameplay.

Crash is better, but the classic ones, the new ones totally sucks. Imo.

Yeah, I would go for the Spyro.

The original Spyro's were amazing (including the GBA ones). When the IP switched dev houses it lost a lot.

Okay, seriously? What the hell.

You comment on Spyro's deep story but prefer Crash's action? How can you compare gameplay to a story of two different games? Needless to say, Crash's story wasn't half-bad. Both of the games had excellent storylines. Cortex is a badass villain and so is Ripto.

Then you say Crash is better.

Then you say you prefer Spyro.

I can't analyze you, bro.

that was the first game I ever owned for the PS1, Crhistmas of '98. for some reason Ripto's Rage appealed to me more than Year of the Dragon, probably because of the awesome music score, the atmosphere of the levels, and simplicity of the game setup. Of course, since I played 2 before 3, the mysteriousness and excitment that I experienced while playing Ripto's Rage completely expired as I started Year of the Dragon.

After Naughty Dog collapsed (after CTR), the Crash Bandicoot games started sucking like a horny tornado.

The first couple Spyro games were what got me in to gaming, and they sure as hell were amazing.

/me breaks out old PS1 and digs for the games

So nostalgic. So beautiful. ;_;

Naughty Dog is a truly talented team with a lot of heart and are an amazing developer. They made the 3 main Crash games plus CTR on the PS1, all commercial and critical successes. I found 3 to be better than 2 overall because of the new powers. Double jump, super belly flop, tornado spin, dash boots, and the wumpa fruit bazooka? Totally awesome. The main things I missed from 2 were the jetpack levels (although Warped added more vehicles/riding sections) and the "running away towards the screen with a big rock or polar bear behind you" levels. Otherwise 3 had more depth to it. I got 102% completion on it and unlocked the secret ending. Hee. I think I got... 3 or 4 platinum time trial badges? It's been a while.

After Naughty Dog left Crash Bandicoot to work on Jak and Daxter (Sony bought ND after this), the series just lost its glory. Crash Bash was a Mario Party clone, but didn't do well (although I still found it fun). Wrath of Cortex was actually pretty good, but not quite as good as the previous games. I never played any Crash games after that.

I tried demos for the first 3 Spyro games, and it's a solid platformer series from what I got out of it. I never had the full games, though.

The first three Spyros: Brilliant. Especially Spyro 2: Gateway to Glimmer (Yes. We Europeans get a different name for Spyro 2 :p ). I used to have the original Spyro, and loved it, but it's gone missing over time. I'll have to buy it again. And Spyro 3... It's pretty meh, really. It's good, but... Not as good as Spyro 2. Probably due to the extra characters (How I hated Agent 9's levels...).

For me, the series started going downhill as soon as Insomniac lost the license of Spyro to Universal Interactive. A series of meh GBA games, and also Enter the Dragonfly and A Hero's Tail (both of which I haven't played, so I can't really comment). And now, we have the "rebooted" franchise, which quite frankly is rubbish.

Giving the rights back to Insomniac is what I personally think would be the best move for the Dragon.

How dare you tarnish the Naughtycoot Collection by randomly deciding that the fifth bandicoot game, a party game a that, should ever be associated with some of the best 2.5D platforming ever. Urgh.

Seriously, what sort of crap game lets you achieve 200%? And what's up with Rilla Roo? Fucking piece of shit.

Yeah, but I loved that bumper ball game.

Certainly, CTR is number 4.

I'll give you that. The race circles were pretty cool too. And the pogo stick game.

Fine, you've got me, I enjoyed Crash Bash. =(
