Well basically I made this because I wanted to see what other good freeware games are out their. So to go first I'll say a tie between Cave Story and N

Cave Story, hands down. N doesn't beat it.

Are you serious? These guys have a wikipedia article listed under freeware games and you figure no one will know? Play a game if YOU want to. Don't worry about who's playing it or not. (Well unless you need to run some netgame)

Anyway, to be fair. Besides N, Sonic Robo Blast 2 is.... a blast 2 play.

I started playing Cave Story about a week ago, and it's definately one of my favorite freeware games. N is also very high on my list (I don't have a list, but pretend that I do).
I can't decide what game is my very favorite, but Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory is probably it.

Edit: OH NOES I'M UNLUCKY NOW!!!

uh...Cave story, N...and then there's a lot of really good but less long-lasting games, such as Death worm or good browser games like chronotron or fancy pants adventure or whatnot.

N, of course.

I don't know what else though hehe. Am I just heavily N biased?

How about I make this easier. Sure, I didn't make the topic, but. Choose a game besides N, as, it's obvious the N community is going to enjoy N. So, pick a game that ISN'T N.

Sonic Robo Blast 2 is fun.
So is Alien Arena.
Trackmania Nations Forever is cool too.
FlightGear is awesome as well, but it's more a flight sim than a game.

Titans of Steel is probably my favorite- it's a couple steps removed from Battletech, with a nice turn system.
Cave Story was lots of fun, but I was never able to beat the final boss without cheating (and I seriously have no idea how people do speedruns of that place).
Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory has to make my list, if only because it almost made me miss a final back when I was in school.
Honorable mentions go to Kingdom of Loathing, Dofus, and Maple Story.

Icy Tower
Netbattle (Pokemon battling, but online)

They're all ten degrees of awesome.

NReality, hands down. It has everything that I wanted except multiplayer, electric fences, and a new Ned. And userlevels support, which sucks. I'm going to call him up about it.

But seriously, NReality is cool(est), in my opinion.

Late edit: NReality != N. HA! Can't get me for it :D ! Well, if I HAD to pick something else, I'd pick either The World's Hardest Game or Avalanche (both can be found on Addicting Games).

Whoa, finally someone else who plays NetBattle. I go on occasionially, but I don't battle. Ever. I have Pokemon Diamond for that.

My favorite? Hmm... I'll get back to you on that. Maybe Iji, but I'm not sure.

I tried Cave Story on suggestion from this thread. Very fun, but the sacred ground level is driving me nuts.

I played Icy Tower for a while before I discovered N, and since then i've dabbled in other freeware games, but none of them come close to the awesomeness of N.
