I think that it is Dragon Warrior III for Gameboy color. If you have ever played it, I am sure you will agree. Just a little about it - It is a huge game! There are two worlds, which is great because it is an amazing game.

2nd on my list is the Golden Sun series.
What do you like?

My favourite are 'The World Ends With You' and 'Hotel Dusk: Room 215' on the DS. Two of the most unique and satisfying gaming experiences I've had on any console.

I loved that game. But I lost my copy of it. ;_;

I think one of my favourite games was from the same series - Dragon Warrior Monsters. I played that game for /hours/ on end.

Okay, I'm going to just list off my favorites because there are so many gorram portable games and a lot of great ones.

Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX: The graphics were fucking top notch in the DX version, and the background trading system was amazing. Combine that with a spectacular story that was thematic and didn't at all feel like a cop-out at the end when it had every reason to, and this is a worth entry in a ridiculously good franchise.

Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons/Ages: I love the password/Link Cable mechanic, and the mechanics in the games themselves were fantastic, while I think Seasons looked a little better and had some cooler stuff you could do. The innovated on a system that was running out of itself, and they gave you extra stuff for playing with the GBA.

Kirby Tilt N' Tumble: I thought tilting your Gameboy to get around at the time was the coolest shit ever. Nuff' Said.

Advance Wars: Anyone who has played this game can tell you that it is an absolute fantastic strategy game, with cute graphics and a bunch of great ideas that have gotten better as the series goes on.

Pokemon LeafGreen: An updated version of the best Pokemon game, far and away. Enough has been written about Pokemon that I don't need to get into this, I should think.

Yoshi's Island DS: A worthy update to a fantastic game.

I'll edit more in if they come to me.

Oh man, I can't believe I forgot these games!

I've Advance Wars the original, plus the two DS versions, and they're absolutely fantastic. In fact, they're the only RTS games I've ever fallen in love with.

The Hideo Kojima produced 'Lunar Knights: Vampire Hunters' is really cool. A spiritual successor to the other Boktai games (set in the same universe, differing time period), it retains the Day/Knight mechanic, but builds it into the game to stop the need for the solar charge on the cartridge itself. You can still use an old Boktai GBA cartridge to boost your ability in sunlight though. The art design, weapons systems, stroyline, menus and stats, everything is expertly done. Highly recommended.

'A Link to the Past' on the GBA is also great.

'Metroid Prime: Fusion', GBA, <- best Metroid to date, imo.

I have Golden Sun GBA, too, but I've never managed to get into it. I think because the story continues straight from the first chapter which I've not played. I'll have to search for a copy of that first.

A couple of things:

Advance Wars isn't an RTS, because the RT in RTS stands for "Real Time"! :P

And the Metroid games for the GBA are amazing, specifically Fusion. (Was it released as Metroid Prime: Fusion in the UK?)

Looks at box: Oh, no, it's just Metroid: Fusion.

And yeh, I know, not an RTS, I used it loosely. I should have said RTS style. I just like to say I like one RTS at least so I don't seem shallow minded....

I thought that was being released later this year.

Hmm. As the above makes out, Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal are some of my favourites, along with TLoZ: Link's Awakening and A Link to the Past. Mario Kart DS would also be up there; if only I hadn't lost the game cart...

I'm suprised no one's mentioned Tetris yet, I must admit. It's one of the best, and longest lasting games ever.

My DS has seen a lot of use lately with TWEWY and Metroid: Zero Mission. Anything that can play both of those games is OK in my book :D

The remake of Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island would be my favorite game on the GBA, if not for the fact that they messed up the dizzy effect from touching the Fuzzy enemies.

Fire Emblem is a great game, and so is Metroid Fusion.
Advanced Wars is good
Never really got into much mario, but I liked it
The Zelda series are excellent, but the DS Zelda I did not like as much.
Final Fantasy Tactics Original is way better than the cheesy plot from the Gameboy or DS versions.
The other Final Fantasy and Dragon Warrior games are great as well.
Still think Dragon Warrior III is the best.

The GBA Metroid titles are fantastic, and the GBA Castlevania titles are incredible. I really enjoyed Boktai for the GBA, as well. Yoshi's Island also, of course, it being one of my favorite games ever.
