I play games like GTA 4 and Saints Row 2 where they already have music built in. Ah the sweet sound of Karma Cameleon while running people over.

I enjoy most game music enough not to have to use my own.

On the PC, always. Anything else, and I'm in George's boat of enjoying the in-game music. I game pretty much exclusively on PC nowadays, so I voted always.

Pretty much never. The sound of my enemies' blood splattering against my armor is music enough to my ears.

Including the game's soundtrack, quite often.
Not including the game's soundtrack, not very often.

Occasionally.
I always remember while I'm turning on my computer, but I forgot to open music when I've already opened it.
Yes, loading time takes that long, even I made all of the specifications to make the start faster.

Depends on the game.

There are some games (like knytt) where the music and sounds are good (and they are quite needed for the game).
There are some games (like some fps's) where the music sucks, but you like the sound of "WAAARGH" and "YOU BITCH" and the shotgun sound, so I turn the game music off and let the sound effects on, and let my music playing.
There are some games (like n) that don't have music (only effects) so I open WMP12.
There are some games (like some racing games) that have crappy everything, the sound effects aren't worth it, so I have my music playing.

So I voted "occasionally". I voted "Sometimes".

BTW MY UT2003 WORKED AND I PUT THE GRAPHICS AT MAXIMUM AND "HOLY SHIT" THE GUY SAID.

I'm with George, In some games such as L4D the game music and sounds can be very important.

Never, unless someone else is using HLSS. Then it depends on what it is and the quality before they get muted.

When online gaming, almost always. For games like TF2 with no music, I'll have something in the background constantly. Ive a few playlists specifically for it.

If I'm playing something more immersive like Fo3, then I'll keep the in game music for atmosphere.

Usually the game's music is good enough, but for online games I usually set the BGM level to zero and play my own stuff after the in-game has run itself dry. I voted "occasionally" because the core of my gaming is not spent on the PC.

Usually I listen to some rock while playing Counter Strike.

I often prefer games where the music is impressive enough to entertain me while I play (Re: A Link to the Past, Twisted Metal 3), but if we WoW, I've been known to Eighties Channel.

I dunno, man. Constant spams of "Need a dispenser heeeere!" are rather pleasing.

I actually don't listen to my music when I play games. Usually the games I play have their own music that's good to listen to. Right now it's Ocarina of Time...that's got some good tunes. :)

But then you can't hear spies uncloaking around you, or nearby sentries being sapped.
For me, audio cues in first-person shooters are too important to be drowned out by my own music.

Earphones, my friend! Music is slightly lower than the game effects, just to fill up the empty space. Plenty of room to hear what's needed.

Increasingly often. I've found that Disturbed makes a great companion to Halo 3 and to an extent Marble Blast Ultra.
