HEY GUYS GUESS WHAT.

I GOTS MEHSELF A SEXBAWKS CIRCLE.
Needless to say, I'm very excited. To make things better, I've got the 60 GB version, so I've got some space to do stuff. I don't have XBL yet, since I need a 45 foot ethernet, but I plan on changing the situation soon.
Basically, just give suggestions on games, (shooter/action is preferable) and stuff. I've also vowed to by N= as soon as I can. Even if I don't play it that much.
So far, I have a (very) small collection of games:
BF:Bad Company (I loves it.).
Some Hulk game. Pretty fun, actually.
And those two free games it comes with.
Oh yeah, and there's Viva Pinata, but that'll prolly get sold or something soon, as no one likes it. It was for the kids anyway.
There's a catch though. M games are out of the question since my mom wants it to be a "family" console. See, she takes one look at the rating and decides. I was thankful that Bad Company was rated T.

Not getting "M" games means you'll miss out on a lot of fun games, but Oblivion is pretty good. Also if you're into racing games you could get Forza or Burnout. I second moony's suggestion of Braid, and also I think you should hold onto Viva Pinata. It can be surprisingly fun ^^

I see. I saw Oblivion, and I'll probably get it from Gamefly (apparently, we have a subscription there).
Also, the "M"-gamelessness is really hurtin' me. I really wanted CoD4 u.u.
By the by, if anyone knows where I could get an ethernet cable at a reasonably cheap price would be my new best friend.
Side note: If I have an unusually large amount of typos, don't be surprised. My glasses broke.

An Xbox 360 without Halo 3? :O

You should get N+ too. I've never heard of this N= game, but it sounds good.
If your family wanted a family console, why didn't you get a Wii?

Because I've been ragging on he for the past three years. And because the only reason a Wii is wanted in this house is for one game (Animal Crossing), Well, two (RB2). Whereas a 360 has something that the whole family can enjoy (RB) with better graphics etc., and a fairly large library of games too. So, yeah.
Also, I agree with your comment about Halo. I will REFUSE to get Halo or a derivative of it. Ever. That's right, bitches.

I likewise refuse to buy it, as the single player is pretty boring. Multiplayer isn't that bad though. I have been playing with a group of 3 or 4 friends pretty regularly, and the small team size in social slayer makes it good for such things.

I've been playing Overlord a lot, and it's very fun. I would recommend it.

Viva Pinata is actually a
very good game. I unlocked most of the achievements on my old live account and still would have played on for the fun of it had I not sold my box. I'd recommend giving it a go.

As for games that are good and don't break the Mature restriction:
Hal0 3 - regardless of what the haters say, it's been reviewed across the board as an outstanding title - hype doesn't carry crap past sales figures, fortunately ;)
Braid - Indie game, but one of the most lovingly crafted and enjoyable games in general that you'll find on the 360.
Oblivion
Perfect Dark Zero
Street Fighter VI
Burnout Paradise
Fall Out 3 - unsure of rating, could be M :(
Kameo: Elements of Power
Mass Effect - Also unsure of rating.
Most of my favourite games on the console are out of your reach atm, but anything from the above listed is highly recommended by me.

Meh. If the first Lego <franchise> game you played was Lego Star Wars (as I did), then you find that the rest of them just aren't nearly as good. The force powers and using a lightsaber was just so much more fun then any other mechanic in the other Lego games.

Both Mass Effect and Fallout 3 are M's. :(

Yeah, that's what I heard too. That's why I convinced my mom to get it in the first place.
Also, Halo 3 is rated M as well.

Oh yeah, it was hilariously well done!
The co-op mode was fun, and leavin' the robot with only one leg while trying to follow us.
I don't know if I'm talking about Lego Star Wars 1 or 2, but they should be almost the same, no?

I'll probably add to this list sooner or later, but, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts, Castle Crashers, The Dishwasher, (It's rated M so... yeah..) Erm.. that's all I can think of now.

Halo 3 is rated M. I have to agree here - Halo 3
is overhyped, but that doesn't mean it's not a very good game, especially in multiplayer.

Before I go off suggesting games listen to this advice and follow it to the letter.
1) Keep your xbox 360 in a cool dry place.
2) Avoid shock impact (Putting a heavy book on a table which it's on, jumping up and down, just stuff that would cause a slight shock) near the console when it's turned on.
3) Do not under any circumstances move the console while it's turned on. EVER.
4) Buy one of those extra cooling fans.
Link to one available in the UK
5) DO NOT MOVE THE CONSOLE WHILE IT'S TURNED ON.
Should keep it from red ringing for a while (Also since it's new it'll also run longer without red ringing than older consoles).
Anyways games: Sonic's Ultimate Genesis collection, Dead Risi - Oh wait M rated, Skate, Banjo-Kazooie Nuts and Bolts, Oblivi - M rated, Mass E - M rated (Strangely rated 12 in the UK), Fab - M rated, Sa - M rated.
Hmm...
Oh, oh, Spider Man Web of Shadows that's not M rated.

He shouldn't need a cooling fan considering he has a 60Gb, my 20Gb from a year ago doesn't get warm, and he's probably got a Jasper unit anyways.
Get Project Gotham Racing 4. It's good. Guitar Hero?

If you like BF: bad company on single player, You'll absolutely LOVE the multiplayer.
You should add me on my accounts, Delta Infern0 (zero at the end) and Om3g4 Ph03n1x
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------^ is also a zero I play BF regularily, as well as TF2, which is... a 15 over here... so I guess thats a no.

Lolz, LF, you sound like the instruction manual. But thanks for your advice. I know you don't know it, but I have enough sense not to do the things you listed. Thanks for your concern, yadda, yadda, yadda.
And to the rest of you, thanks for all of your suggestions. I really appreciate it.
