I really don't enjoy the game. So I don't play it anymore.

PC / 4.5-5.0.

My only suggestions for improvement:
  • Give an option to skip cutscenes, at the very least as a reward for beating the game. If I've already played through the game, I've already seen them, and I don't like starting a mission and having to go make a sandwich before I'm actually able to re-play some of my favorite parts of the game.
  • As the first suggestion, make the mini-quests skippable after the game has been beaten. There are some missions in which I love the assassination itself, but can't be bothered to wank around town for twenty minutes just to get to it.
  • An actual reward for collecting all flags / genociding the templars.
  • If you approach the assassination itself from an odd angle, there's a bug where you can be locked into the scene and therefore unable to do acrobatics, but you're in a position where you NEED to be able to climb over or down things to get within range to start the actual scene. This leaves you completely screwed, and you need to restart.

360/ 4.5- 5.0

awesome game... it was slightly repetitive, but I just had fun killing everything in sight.
tsukatu said most of it already... and I think they needed a notice saying that there's a sequel coming cause the end is a bit annoying if you don't know that... but I did which made the end so awesome.

PS3/ 1.5-2

Don't get me wrong, it's a brilliant game... to begin with. But it gets old increadibly fast. By the fifth assassination I was bored with doing the same thing over and over.

Wait why are the DS and Mobil versions grouped in? They're 2D where the console/PC version is 3D and therefore shouldn't be grouped in with the scoring.

360 and PC. Thoroughly enjoyable, though I can see where they can improve for #2 which is already on the way :)

I didn't mind the non-skippable shortcuts because i've only played it twice.

A high 3/5. The game looks excellent, and the story was interesting. On the other hand? The tasks were repetitive and boring, and I didn't find it much difficult at all. In fact, the only difficulty in the game is that the more time you put in, the more rewards you will reap. My roommate has compared it more to employment than a video game.

As far as sequels go, the game was originally imagined as a trilogy, and I imagine sales were high enough.

Oh, XBOX 360.

I was extremely disappointed by the ending...Like Slappy says, the game looks great and the story was good, but in the end it just got down to the same ol' eavesdrop, pickpocket etc etc.
Assasinations were fun :)

Googled it, this explains alot. But dont click on the link unless you've finished the game, it contains spoilers.

To Quote Wikipedia:
Wikipedia wrote:Sequel

In an interview, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot refused to talk about Assassin's Creed 2, but confirmed it was in development. Guillemot said, "What we just can say is that we are working hard on the product."[47] On February 24, 2009, tipsters who were involved in a Ubisoft focus group reported to Joystiq that they were shown early footage of the sequel and it appears that the game takes place in 15th century Italy with an Italian protagonist, similar in appearance to Altaïr but more colorful, named Ezio. Gameplay updates include abilities to swim and the use of gunpowder.[48] The game is expected to be released by March 2010. [49]
Reliability is questionable; it is Wikipedia after all.

france? italy? hmmm.... dunno if those would be good choices for success. im still pinning my hopes on japan, otherwise they better get a Jean Reno or Al Pacino type character...

Thank god you should be able to swim in the next one. The episode where you had to jump from dock to floating wood panel to boat was irritating, especially with the damn retards pushing you in.

Anyway, I agree with Suki on the cut scenes and the side-quests. Also, make the mental citizens less irritating, although I'll admit it was fun just going around killing people after I had beaten the game. Another fun thing is to see how many guards you can get to chase you, and then kill them all using only the hidden blade. There are a ton of fun things to do if you're creative and bored enough (and you've already beaten the game thrice). Oh, and 4.5/5 on Xbox 360.

Xbox360 and 5/5

There were a few bugs (one was "dieing" but not respawning and being able to use eage vision and nothing else, another was I jumped into a haybail outside a city, but it bugged. I couldn't move, couldn't get out, showed me standing in it, and soldiers were stoning me to death.. except it didn't hurt me.) but it's still in my top-10 games. Actually top-5. One of my favourites. It's somewhere in my top 3 for Xbox360 games, but I'm not sure where I'd place it.

Not being able to swim was kind of weird but oh well. I kept jumping into the river in that one level... like 5 times in a row. <_<
