Sauerbraten (sou ûr brä tən)

Sauerbraten is a game, an FPS to be exact. Sauerbraten is not your ordinary FPS. Sauerbraten has possible the best editor to be put in any game. That is Why I have dubbed it Editable FPS Supreme. Because it truly is supreme. You can easily make anything. After you build, you can paint it.

Painting is done fairly easily, but has two downsides: One, you can't actually paint, you have preset textures. Two, it's tedious.

After you are done making your master piece enjoyable to the eye, you can add dynamic lighting. This task is easily done by dropping a LIGHT entity into the playing field. You can set color and strength to your will.
Note that after this is done you must recalculate lighting, done in the editing menu. Many levels of detail for many levels of CPU.

You can drop items, such as bullets and armor down. The downside is that you must reload the level for them to appear.

Oh yeah, did I mention that all of this is done IN GAME? Yeah, that's right. No external application is needed. It's right there.

Now you may be thinking: 'Hmm, it sounds like it edits easy, but does it play easy'? Darned right it does. With seven weapons, single player mode, monsters, online capabilities, plus a bunch of other goodies, it's just as much fun to play as it is to make. If you think that something this great comes with a price, think again. IT's freeware. That's right,
Freeware
You get all the fun at no cost. So what are you waiting for go get. There's no reason not to, and a ton of reasons to.

Get. It. Now. </sounding_like_a_bot>
