Which ones do you think are the best? I'm looking to get some new ones.
Currently, I have no games on Steam. And Orange Box is on my list for sure.

Valve complete pack. It's a big saving in the long run as the orange box is £17 and Left 4 Dead is £27 which totals to £44 so you're only paying an extra £9 for every other game Valve have published which is totally worth it (Pack being £53).
Also feel free to check my games list as I have no bad games apart from CS:S but a lot of mods use CS:S content so it's still useful.

Nah LF, CS:S is fun. Just depends if you can be bothered to use the mute option sometimes :P
But as he said, go with the Valve complete pack.

Actually, to be honest, CS:S isn't that fun at all. It's the same thing over and over again all the time. Anyway, T3chno, I'd say Threadspace Hyperbol if you like strategy based third person shooters. Or more, play a demo of that first. Then there's mount & Blade. I've played the demo, and I think you can only get it from the site, but the game is so amazing. There's the Ideas From the Deep (id) pack, which has about 21 games, ranging from Doom to Doom 3, Quake 1 to Quake 3, Commander Keen, and stuff like that. That's about all I have to say now though.

I'll think about getting CS:S and the complete pack.
Is Red Alert 3 any good?

CS:S comes in the complete pack... hell if you add the price of CS:S it totals to a bit above the valve complete pack. From what I've played of Red Alert 3 on the 360 (at a friends) and the beta (on PC) I think you'd be better off waiting for it to go down in price on retail or steam. Also don't buy games on steam just because they're on steam some times you can get them cheaper elsewhere (Dawn of War 2 for instance).Techno wrote:I'll think about getting CS:S and the complete pack.

Just get the Valve complete pack, there isn't even any reason to discuss anything else.
(CS:S can be fun, but 1/3 of everyone uses aimbots or the like, and another 1/2 of everyone just plays 20 hours a week, so you should just expect to die a lot)

Too bad you missed the holidays. Steam had amazing Christmas deals. I bought Bioshock for 5$.

CaNAdian dollars.
Man CS:S ain't where it's at, get up in the CS 1.6. Clearly a superior game. Also, Audiosurf is single-player multi-fun-times.

The thing is, I doubt I will play most of the games in the complete pack. I'm not a huge of Left 4 Dead or the like.smartalco wrote:Just get the Valve complete pack, there isn't even any reason to discuss anything else.

And also, first persons aren't exactly my favorite type of game, although they are nice. I was thinking of getting CS:1.6 rather than Source. I've played both, but liked the first better.
Oh, and I got Psychonauts. <3

I think that Trackmania Nations Forever, Portal and Garry's Mod are the best.

You should at least get an orange box game (Not specifically TOB just HL2:ep2, TF2 or Portal) to get the mod capability as there are some really awesome mods about.Techno wrote:The thing is, I doubt I will play most of the games in the complete pack. Well, I did get Orange Box. And I didn't really buy it, my friend gifted it to me. So it's all good. Assuming from your post, I have the source engine, and am now able to download games that run off it?Luminaflare wrote:You should at least get an orange box game (Not specifically TOB just HL2:ep2, TF2 or Portal) to get the mod capability as there are some really awesome mods about.Techno wrote:The thing is, I doubt I will play most of the games in the complete pack. Yeah.
Also, get Sid Meier's Pirates. It costs ten dollars, and it is God-damn amazing.
