Discuss Steam, it's games and it's community. You know, stuff like that.
Forr anyone with Steam who hasn't found it yet, there is a group on Steam for Metanet. A link? Oh, if you insist. Click this thing

Actually, just to make things easier. Metagamers. In any case though, feel free to join, as, the more the merrier.

Joined just now. I'm Osiah. I have HL2:DM, but since I'm using a laptop and I don't have a USB mouse yet, I don't play online.

Oh by the way 5 mods (Insurgency, Synergy, D.I.P.R.I.P., Zombie Panic and one other I can't remember the name of) are coming to steam for download this week.

Are the gray ones the ones you don't have installed? Because if so, you are crazy for not having TF2 installed...
also: question: if you add an otherwise installed game to steam games, can you then access steam friends and stuff in that game? (ex: I add Warcraft 3 to steam, can I hit shift-tab in game to bring stuff up?) (It doesn't seem like it to me, seems like that would be an SDK thing that would have to be built into the game)
Steam games I play regularly:
Team Fortress 2
Steam games I play when I'm not playing TF2:
CS:S
DoD:S
That isn't counting single player games (but since I beat HL2 and both episodes, those have both also been relegated to 'games I play when I'm not playing TF2'), I and just downloaded the 5 mods Valve put on steam, so if those are good I might occasionally play those

No, I don't have Team Fortress 2 installed, as, the game doesn't like my PC. I'm positive I know why, and it'd involve me reinstalling Windows, which, I personally don't want to do (I don't want to wait for it to install..sadly).

This usually works, but not on all games. I only one I remember trying and working is Spore.(ex: I add Warcraft 3 to steam, can I hit shift-tab in game to bring stuff up?) (It doesn't seem like it to me, seems like that would be an SDK thing that would have to be built into the game)

Also I know Halo CE and Halo Custom Edition (PC) work with the Steam Community (F1 for me). While CoD4 is sometimes nice, yet changing to a mod results in an unknown error.

Has anyone played Age of Chivalry yet? I played it for a little while last night, and it was fun for a while. I feel that the game flow is incredibly slow compared to other games, though that might be my many hours of TF2 talking.

It is many hours of TF2 talking.
I find age of chivalry really fun, especially beheading people, but servers are a bitch to get in to and when you do get in chances are the server is laggy as balls even with a ping of 50 (Yay for crappy server settings).
I know for a fact that Synergy is good (Played it way before it came on steam as downloadable), D.I.P.R.I.P. Warm Up seems fun (I've yet to play in any other than my own server), I'm not too sure if I like insurgency or not yet as I've not really played it and Zombie Panic source was also good when I first played it on its first release so now that it's had bugs and stuff fixed it should be better.
Also unrelated to that: WOOOOOOOO I JUST PASSED MY FINAL EXAM!

Actually, speaking of Age of Chivalry, I was reading up on it, and apparently, every month, they're going to update it, so that means that every month there's going to be new maps, weapons, and stuff like that. I think that's awesome. Anyway, about the game though, I really do enjoy it, especially whenever I behead two people with one swing of my sword. I've also recently found out that the Source Engine is really compatible with my Xbox 360 controller, so.. I can now play it with my Xbox 360 controller.. and that makes me happy.

Ditto, ridiculously laggy with a ping of 100 for me... and it was the only server with more then 4 people I could get in toLuminaflare wrote:I find age of chivalry really fun, especially beheading people, but servers are a bitch to get in to and when you do get in chances are the server is laggy as balls even with a ping of 50 (Yay for crappy server settings).

Left4Dead, Steam or pre-purchase?
Left4Dead is coming to the 360 yes, but it'll be worse. Steam is PC only, pre-purchasing is like pre-ordering but you can download the game before release and then play it on release without having to wait for it to install/download. But it's been available to pre-order for 360 in game shops for ages.

Very, definetly worth buying since you're also buying into a community too! e.g. No-one else will understand exactly why "the cake is a lie".UnknownKirbyMan wrote:How much fun is portal?
