Goddamn I'm level 3 and I came across a Yao Guai, I totally punched it out (And used about 20 stim packs but hey whatever).

Also yeah trying an un-armed good character who's really lucky.

Edit: Hrm, May have a problem getting the endurance bobblehead with just my fists.

Oh and for those who don't know the endurance bobble head is in the deathclaw sanctuary.

I love this game soo much.

Currently i'm playing as an explosives guy- I throw grenades around, lay heaps of mines, shoot some missiles if I need to. Experimental MIRV is such an awesome weapon :P

The main thing that irks me is that considering you're a lone wanderer in a nuclear war wasteland, the game is pretty light hearted and funny. The laughs are good and the developers have a neat sense of humour, but some frights and drama would have been good too. The only thing that had me a bit freaked was the town with the cannibal parents, and I scare pretty damn easily. Does anybody know of any good scary or dramatic areas/quests in the game?

Apparently it's in the Old Olney (deathclaw infested town) sewer.

Good luck getting in and out of there ;P

The Fallout games have always had a bit of humour. Hell, there's a reason the setting is based on the 50s.

Also, have you checked out the Dunwich Building? It's in the bottom left corner of the map, near Girdershade.

You don't have this game?
You fucking need this game.

It's buggy as shit, but the awesomeness by far outweighs that drawback. By faaaar.

Although I'd recommend getting the mod that removes the green-filter they applied to 99% of the game. (There is literally no green in the game by default, outside of the tiny oasis sidequest in the north)

I think that's actually one of the reasons the game draws me so much.
And why I've always hated doing the Oasis quest.

It definitely helps sell the post-apocalyptic setting, and I think most of the game in general looks amazing, but I like a full color gamut.

I'mma wait for the boxing day sale on Steam. Cause that might happen.

Incidentally, The Matrix is entirely shot in a green filter except for stuff that happens in the real world and the very last scene in the third film in the Matrix, which I think is probably the most poignant thing the series did.

Duely noted, however, I think I shall wait out the Holiday to see if it gets a bigger deal on one of the 24hr. deals.
