Apparently Rhekatou can learn both Ice Beam and Blizzard with a TM. Along with Surf and Dig.

Should be fine.

Still working with Chikorita. Just beat Clair, but haven't gone into the Dragon's Den yet. Also, I feel stupid for cancelling learning Solarbeam.

Speaking of Clair... Who exactly designed her sprite for the new games?

Fan-service, anyone?

It seems like all the important female trainers are being, er, spruced up, except for Erika and Jasmine, the friends of all living things. This is what, Sabrina's third redesign in four generations?

Edit: I did my homework, and yes, her third redesign.

I'm pretty sure they hired new sprite artists for this game, or had a second team which they decided to allow to work on the game. Because the quality of all the sprites, trainers and everything look far superior in quality and appearance. Everything looks much better.

Sabrina's new sprite is awesome, probably one of my favourites.

Eh, I preferred the long-haired stoic Sabrina to this one. Also, I feel like they botched Karen too. Many of the other sprites, however, are amazing. I don't wanna go naming all of the good ones, because that'd take a while, but Blaine has never been more of a badass-old-guy. Pryce, in the same respect, looks like he doesn't take shit from anyone. Actually, back to Blaine, the sunglasses-wearing Pokemon trainer population came out quite nicely in general, as the Burglar and Surge are also pretty boss.

Can't wait for them, personally, love the idea of having any pokemon out stalking you like Pikachu did in Yellow.
For me, Gold and Silver was a big thing, had the guide book and everything. Loved how it morphed Kanto with Johto, extending the play time by ALOT. Now, with the addition of, what's its name, durrrrrrrr, Sinnoh?, should be great fun.

The only other reason i would get the real version real versions have a much lower likelihood of crashes, save errors, glitches, bugs, etc.
(From past experiences, getting your save wiped for no reason after reachingtheelitefourplayingnonstopfortwodays(withsleepingbreaks) is not something I want a repeat of.)

Oh yes, and for the poke walker. Run chubs! Run!

On another note, I herd u liek teh mudkipz. U lUUuUUrve MudKipz

Of course it won't be, but who knows what glitches might be uncovered. [Pretty sure they fixed the glitch since DPPt]
Though the Japanese version is released first to catch those glitches.

My save once got wiped on Crystal after I beat Clair. Then I learned that the batteries from GSC only last about 5/6 years...

Hmm. Although, I hope they haven't fixed the Trading Evolution Glitch from DPPt. Considering the games use the same server, I would doubt it... But even still, that glitch is incredibly useful. =D

Ooooh, might have to test that sometime soon. Will give results ASAP. I have a Haunter I can test it on.

I've been awaiting this since I first got a Pokemon Pikachu back in /second grade/. Even more so in the last four years, as I've started running competitively. I wonder how my Pokemon will hold up during long runs and interval workouts. >:)

I'm at a DIII school. The jocks are a small and generally friendly tribe.

So, I beat all the Kanto gyms. Now I'll trade some stuff over from Pearl and then take on Red.

I just went and actually reserved HeartGold. I am happy. Also got the Pikachu-colored Pichu in my Pearl game while I was there.

Luminaflare wrote:ok so compared to Gold/Silver what does HG/SS have apart from double battles and shinier graphics?
Pokeathelon (Some sort of mini-game area)
Battle Frontier (Same one as found in Platinum)
More Pokemon than G/S (including quite a few Legendary Pokemon)
Pokewalker (A fancy pedometer where you beam over one of your boxed pokemon)
The Safari Zone (Which is, at a later point, customizable)
Your mother actually buys you somewhat useful items.
Add in all the upgrades of Generation IV, etc.
Rocket Leaders are named after actual Rockets (not really that much of an upgrade, but I thought that was quite interesting.)

That is all of the updates I can think of right now.

stuff
Gym leader rebattling, too. There's a hall where all 16 hang out, and when they aren't at the hall they do other things in the world. During those "other" times, you can talk to them and get their phone numbers, then challenge them at specific times.

Bump because the games are out today, of course!

I've got HeartGold, but I haven't played it much because I'm waiting for night to catch a Wooper. Oh yeah, defeating Falkner with a Chikorita is still epic.
