I'm between Casual and Fairly-Hardcore. I spend loads of time playing Kingdom Hearts and Ratchet and Clank these days.

Casual. The most hardcore gaming I do is a (semi) weekly Age of Empires II game with some of my buddies. We did buy a switch to eliminate lag, so maybe I'm more hardcore than I think.

I chug Red Bull like water. I also played WoW for awhile, so I picked the last option. I remember playing Morrowind for 6 hours straight, I could really get lost in that game...
<smartalco> man, you have just been accelerated to a whole new level of awesome, raven

I pay attention to all the games that are coming out, but I only have a mac, so there's not a lot of them I can buy (or at least take the time to go out and get). I guess that's kind of good because some games can become terribly addictive. Wait...

Blah blah blah. Me and Blazeraid played Civ4 for 9 hours and then 6 hours for one game (total of 15 hours).Ravenclaw wrote:I chug Red Bull like water. Seriously though that game is ridiculous in the amount of time it takes.

I have phases, I mean, sometimes I stick with a game for days, and I can't stop playing it. When I get a new game (and I always buy good stuff), it's a party for me, I get very excited, and I can't stop playing it. But after I won the whole game or simply get sick of it, I go and wander in the internet, searching for something.
But still, I remember I was much more addicted 7 years ago, when I had... 1-2 games... DOS GAMES!
It's like yesterday, my fathers gave me Wii Fit and I can't stop playing it and unlocking new things. :P
EDIT: oh and I picked casual and fairly hardcore

I usualy play wow a lot, but currently my account isn't active. You see, I had this strange fantasy that I could actualy get a girlfriend with the new school year starting.
I'm gonna be playing WoW again pretty soon.

i dunno. like. i'm not hardcore. but... i play a heap of n. but that's it. other than a online flash game every now and then, i play super often, but i'll still say casual, because i don't go out of my way or whatever to play it... or maybe i'm the second casual-est option. i mean. yeah, i play a heap, but n is the only one that -really- attracts me. things like WoW and Guitar Hero seem boring to me. I need to be able to use my creativity if i'm gonna really like a game. yeah. i'll go casual.

I like to think of myself as a casual to very slightly hardcore gamer. Before Team Fortress 2 came out, I hadn't touched an FPS in almost 4 or 5 years, but the game definitely brought me back, and I'm fairly addicted. I've always loved puzzle/logic games, and Portal (and to a slight extent, N, if you consider highscoring a puzzle) has brought me back into them.

Quite casual. Apparently some people are under the impression I'm hardcore, but I really only play N and occasionally something recommended on Jay is Games.

That's very much the reason why I don't play games very much. After more than a few hours of playing a game, I begin to feel extremely disconnected and I just have to stop and talk to someone or go outside. It just messes with my mind.Chad wrote:casual, I play to distract myself from reality
I play N and a few games on my PS3. Not very much at all.

I would call myself a pretty hardcore gamer - I would call myself something of an authority on games and game design. I'm much akin to Dave in that I use my gaming experiences to spark ideas in my own head.

Whoa, you've got a PS3, and you're not a harcore gamer? Jeez. And I see where you're coming from, Kablizzy. I feel the same way, sometimes. But I didn't really think this thread would be popular. I was expecting it to lie on the bottom of the forum, slowly having a peaceful slumber... Anyways, yeah. I'm saving up for a gme that's rated M, though it doesn't have tht much bad stuff in it. Like, this guy's hand get's chopped off, or something. I'm in the process of buttering up my mom. Yeah. I guess that's fairly hardcore. I guess.gloomp wrote:Quite casual. If judging only by the amount of time I log on Ratchet & Clank, fairly hardcore.

I have played 27.7 hours of TF2 in the past 2 weeks, so you tell me :P (and that definitely isn't the only game I played in that 2 weeks, just the most played)

well, what consists of hard core??? normally i play about 16 hours worth of video games in a day, even when working... So i dont know, is that hard core enough... Right now even im playing Oblivion, Unreal Tournament III, Grears of War, Halo 3, Call of Duty 4, final fantacy VII & XII .. Nearly at the same time, bored of one game switch to another... Ive spent 54 hours playing one game/ in one sitting because i get drawn into the storyling and wanted to see what happened next. video games are to me as reading is to other people, (you know, the compulsive readers... Three 1000 page books in a day or something crazy like that)... ... So yeah... Ratchet & Clank all the way, ive played, ive beaten, ive conquered... no pwned them to oblivion! Every single one of them... & its monster for me, ive never had red bull before...
