Every time I hear about Scribblenauts I feel a pang of sorrow for those developers. It just. Damn. Imagine how much of a pain that would be to program, not to mention get the art done for and then squeeze into a DS cart.
Corruption holds the record as the most linear Metroid game at the moment. It was still great. While I enjoy the open exploration feeling of games like the first Prime and Zero Mission, there is still nothing wrong with the others and that doesn't always work out. Samus goes to planet to investigate, Samus learns about problems on planet, Samus solves problems on planet, Samus goes on her merry way. Fusion managed to squeeze in more of a story than any of the others without really losing much of the open feel. Just because the trailer shows cutscenes and hints at actual plot developments and back story doesn't mean it won't have the same exploration appeal. You can do both. Also I just finished playing through Fusion again and it'll be nice to finally get a prequel explaining some of the things they were talking about. I don't think Other M is anything to worry about, if anything, it'll be better than the Prime trilogy.
TWEWY is awesome.

Plot developement never tickled my fancy with metroid. Corruption is a great example. Add to much yabber jabber and linearity and you get some suckish generic first person shooter. The only good thing about that game is it's graphics and playability. Sound was never too great, but not bad. The thing I missed the most is the assorted beam weopons. Now all we have is this one cookie-cutter beam that welds stuff and shoots through walls. No creative vibe, and the combo attacks have lost a shine because of this. Woldn't be to bad if you got like, magma chunks when you used the plasma combo, but the beam combo is basically just a big bang. Hyper mode fails miserably, because every boss that doesn't need you to use it can be killed in about 5 seconds with it, and the beam just doesn't look good. The grapples were pretty fun, I'll admit, but seemed underused in most situations and a shtick/gimmick in others. Prime 1 was probably the best, just for the enviromental detail (design, sounds, etc.), but Echoes followed nicely in it's footsteps with great graphics, gameplay, design and music. Corruption is just that, a corrupted mutant of a great series. I want retro Retro back!
About Fusion, The stroy was good enough and saxy (sexy) enough to make up, plus fun to use beams. Also, half the play area was nonlinear, and sho can forget the magical secret dialogue? That game still creeps me out at times, but the SA-X was fun to confuse. A good foray of bosses never detracted either, who could forget the SA-X and liv with themselves?

Metroid is just plain awesome.
Fusion was amazing, my friend let me play it. SA-X was freaky, as was Nightmare.
I'm playing Prime 2 right now, Super Metroid every now and then.
I dislike the lack of Save Points after a boss in Metroid Prime 2.

Now this is what I'm talking about.
Beyond Good And Evil 2.
The first game is the reason I rate Ubisoft as one of my favourite Dev companies. This looks very likely to cement that.

Oh my God.
Part of me knows that there is no way that isn't at least partially CGI. Party of me wants to fuck this game.
A third part of me feels moderate about the game, but loves hats.

Yeah, the part where she goes through the window...I'd be surprised if you could do that in game, at least, that smoothly.SlappyMcGee wrote:squibbles wrote:Oh, shit yes!

I merged the topics, renamed it and unlocked it. Now use the topic for it's intended purpose of posting game trailers and stop complaining.

thank you LF.
and atob, i wasn't arguing anything, just clarifying. You might want to find out the flavor of the kool aid before you hastily decide to drop your nuts in it.
anyways, Project Offset. who else is as excited as i am for this? cause, i mean, damn .... thats one sexy looking game.

I had seen some gameplay vids of New Super Mario Bros. Wii, but I just saw the trailer last night, and it looks tighter than Yahoozy's girlfriend.

It looks like they have figured out an excellent way to make it as easy as possible (read the Objectnauts part).

I don't think you actually played Corruption that much (if at all) if you think it's a suckish generic first person shooter, but it's totally fine and i respect your opinion.
In other news, The Grinder is by High Voltage Games, the same people who did The Conduit, and they seem very motivated to bring quality FPS games to the Wii.
I also bring another trailer for a yabber jabbery linear generic FPS called Singularity. I really know nothing about it, i just saw a preview for it in a magazine i read and the screenshots looked pretty sexy.

I just rented Corruption today.
Played for an hour or two, it's just sick. Awesome graphics for a Wii game.

I think you mean awesome graphics. Period. The Wii has much higher graphical capabilities than the GCN, just because not very many games choose to utilize it doesn't mean the console itself is lacking. Otherwise I'm stuck in my second playthrough. I'm trying to get a clean run in hard mode while obtaining all of the achievements and the one that requires you not take any damage from Ridley while in the tubes is proving elusive. He is a very hard man to predict.
Also Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days. There are tons of trailers for it so just take your pick. Also FFCC: My Life as a Darklord. My Life as a King was surprisingly entertaining so I have high expectations for the tower defense approach Square is taking this time.

That is the hardest gold medal in the game to get. :PZivilyn wrote:I think you mean awesome graphics. Period. Right now, I just landed on some planet, I forget what it's called. It's after you get the PED.

Bryyo? Also, I once got a gold medal/token for grappling this hinge, pulling it out, and killing about 5000 robots without even shooting them. Pretty beast if you ask me.MyCheezKilledYours wrote:That is the hardest gold medal in the game to get. :PZivilyn wrote:I think you mean awesome graphics. Period. Yeah, it was Bryyo. I beat Rundas, got my Ice Missiles, and just used my ship to bomb a Space Pirate Camp. After that I used my ship again to destroy the thing in front of the seed, I believe?

Didn't see this bit. I've already beat it, and the upgrades also seemed slightly lacking. Nova beam? Sure, it looks cool, but it doesn't do that much more. I've not played in a few months, so forgive me if I get the name worng, but the grapple charger was pretty lame, as was the 'biohazard suit'. EDIT: I see what you mean. Even that much story-telling ruined it for me. I like isolation. =]
P.S. I was sad when I killed Rundas. He waas awesome... TıT
