I'm sure a few people have heard about this, but to reiterate it to those that haven't heard of it, Smith & Tinker and Piranha Games are working on a reboot to the Mechwarrior series. And the best bit of the deal is that it will be available from BattleTech.com and Xbox Live for free. (I doubt PSN however, as I believe Microsoft still owns the rights to it).

As a fan of Mechwarrior 3, may I be the first to say that this is awesome.

The trailer is available to see on IGN. And is completely done using in-game footage. Which looks amazing.

I cannot confrim this, but rumours are about that Mechwarrior games, other than this reboot, will also become free to download from BattleTech.com. As I said, I cannot confirm that one yet, but checking it out.

So, your thoughts on this?

Aww... MechWarrior. Love it, and hope they bring it back.

If you yell at me for reaching down and pulling this out of the "unanswered posts" section, I will eat you.

Hey, you pulled this out of the unanswered posts section, and don't you dare make any attempt to eat me. Anyway, yeah, it's awesome that they're making another Mechwarrior. I never actually played a Mechwarrior game, but I've played games like it, that, and LF doesn't stop talking about mech games, so yeah, there's that.
