What games do you play to tide over the time between game releases you're looking forward to? Also feel free to ask for a recommendation on what to play during your dry spells.

For me currently none, going on holiday tends to knock off my gaming mojo. I'd like to know some games to tide over the 3 weeks or so leading up to shadow complex (A metroidvania style game on Xbox live).

Playing through HL2 on the hardest difficulty is a timekiller that rewards.

I just played normally. Also I doubt there's any other way to kill the gunships other than with the rocket launcher, so you can use that.

Used to be Halo PC until the entire community was raped by aimbots. Now, TF2, n, or L4D.

PS: Shadow Complex looks awesome. I've been waiting for a company to do something up-to-date with the side scrolling forumla; Imo, it's always been a goldmine waiting to be found. Hopefully this will be as rewarding as it looks.

My only beef is a large portion of the aesthetic looks ripped from Metal Gear Solid.

Bioshock, hl2, portal. If my internets is still up, tf2 and l4d. And if all else fails, I start an ambitious project that I'll never finish.
Tapp: I think I've been playing too much left 4 dead
Spetznaz: What makes you say that?
Tapp: I had a zombie-based nightmare last night
Spetznaz: Happens to the best of us
Tapp: This one had film grain and vignetting
Spetznaz: See a psychiatrist

Exactly. It's a completely different format, so I don't mind the rip. In fact, I salute it.

On a side note there I've completed Shadow Complex twice now and it's amazing.
