Neotokyo is a multiplayer mod for HL2 which came out rather recently. It's set in a futuristic Tokyo. Each round you can select one of the three classes. There's a short-term exp system so you can gain access to better weapons. But enough with the talk, have a look at a video, eh?

The mod is free and you can use it if you have any paid Source engine game on Steam.

I actually saw the official trailer a while ago. It looks pretty awesome, and it's yet another reminder that I need to get a game with the Source engine someday.

Hahaha. I went ahead and bought CS:S as I had been getting tired of playing it with SteamUp! anyways, too many damn hackers. -_-

Was it worth it? Oh yeah, I'd pay double what I paid for CS for only the mod itself.

Yeah it's well worth actually buying the game to play it. It feels better having bought it, also mods etc. are more likely to work.

Neotokyo is nothing short of impressive. It isn't flawless, but this very well could have been a beta for a $20 release.
My informal goodbye, because I feel too detached from the community, and cannot find a way to delete my account:
