Recently I have bought a fair few iPhone games... some have not been worth buying, so I am going to write some reviews on them so you know what is worth it or not.
PEGGLE

I played the original on pc ages ago and clocked it rather fast.
I lashed out when I saw this on iPhone, it proved to be one of my better purchases.
Wikipedia describes this game as "each level of Peggle challenges the player to shoot a limited supply of balls at a field of colored pegs to clear out specifically-marked pegs while attempting to achieve a high score through skilled shot planning."
Although some of the game is lame, the game is actually rather fun and replayable.
alright, nit picky things:
the buttons are too small and the whole screen should have been like a track pad, cause many times have I lined up the perfect shot, and gone to press the shoot button, and missed ever so slightly causing the canon to change direction.
the game occasionally lags during the Fever section when you hit the last orange peg.
too short, clocked in a few days.

not so nit picky things:
the game mechanics are excellent.
easy to see everything.
easy to pick up and play.
good on the battery.

the low down:
the few small problems are not really any problem and you can get used to. If you like puzzles and physics based games, well this is a good buy. I definitely think it is worth paying 8 or 9 dollars (or whatever it costs on the store).

Crayon Physics Deluxe

Now a while ago my friend showed me the original crayon physics on pc. it was awesome. I came across the deluxe version on pc later, but I never got to play it...
lo and behold, I was searching through the new games on iTunes store and my money balance dropped minutes later.

The Good:
Excellent mechanics, very lag free.
inventive and mind bending.
Challenging.
good amount of levels.
Level editor and level sharing (however you do that).

the Crappy:
the levels are restricted to the screen dimensions, rather limitng.
you rely less on physics and more on bugs and glitches to get you through the late, late levels.
there could have been some more cool things (eg the pc version has rockets)
replayability is limited.

the overview:
if you like puzzles and physics, and some money to burn, it's a good choice.
I never regret buying this.

Inotia

I was looking for a good rpg for a while, but this wasn't it.
I really wanted to like this, but I just couldn't.
this is a random based rpg, which take a hell of a long time to level up and progress in. every time you enter an area it is different.

Pros:
good nice graphics.
and that's about it.

Cons:
repetitive music.
horrible fighting system.
too long to get anywhere.
always get ganged up on.
linear... and when you die, you go back to the start, so you have to pass through all the areas you went through already, and search for each portal to the next area...

the basic idea:
don't buy it... waste of money...

NFS Undercover

well, I never expected free roaming, but this has been stripped of more than that.
In a NFS game you would expect to be able to spin out and the the "wrong way" thing flashing at you till you rip the screen apart... sadly you get none.

Pros:
great graphics
car modding

Cons:
-you don't need to press an accelerate button but you need to press brake to slow down o_O
-the car modding is sooo limited, actually rather pathetic
-the lack of car control, you slide left and right, that's it.
-the missions are silly, and annoying... need more races and less crappy "chase down the bad guy and ram him till he dies" and "drive car from a to b without wrecking your car, while getting pummeled by cops"... C'mon since when has NFS let you wreck a car?
-it is homosexually made... the controls do weird things half the time.

the end result:
don't get it, it is like brushing your teeth with a wire brush and dog turd.

Star Wars: the Force Unleashed

Now... After pre-ordering this for wii, getting it the day it was released, immediately packing up my wii, going on holidays, staying with a guy who had just got it for ps3... playing that, falling in love, unpacking my wii and starting it up at a hotel, playing and being severely disappointed...
I went and bought this game for iPhone.
I expected a walk around game, but sadly no.

well you come into a scene and enemies run around, and you have to scrawl symbols on the screen to kill them.
I'll put it this way, it was an alright game, but not what I expected.
the graphics were alright, the combos were easy to pickup.
there was a good sense of urgency with the timing and combos, so you sit there hurriedly drawing lines through your screen protector with your finger.
it was rather challenging.
BUT...
it got ridiculously hard at certain occasions and it's not what the force unleashed should be...
the funny thing is, I can't think of much wrong with the game, but I never really liked it. I haven't played it for a while.
I would not buy it again, at full price...
so unfortunately you may have to test it out yourself.
fortunately there is a lite version (I think) so DL that and make your own decision...

DOOM Resurrection

Well, this cost me thirteen dollars, but I almost think it was worth it.
If you see it on special, don't hesitate.
I have never played any of the doom games, so yeah.

the good:
-the controls are easy to get used to
-the difficulty is good
-graphics are really awesome
-good variety of weapons
-good variety of enemies
-not too awkward
-very fun

the bad:
-linear, as in you cant's choose where you walk
-can only carry three weapons
-you need to reload lots
-bad for battery life

My opinion:
it is fantastic, one of the best and most fun games I have played on iPhone.
I think it is well made and worth buying, even if it is expensive.
I am yet to finish it, but I hope it last long and is satisfying.

coming soon:
-marble blast mobile
-Assassin's creed Altair's chronicles (almost ready to review)
-Zenonia (liking atm)
-Crash Kart (not playing atm)
-hero of sparta (not playing atm)

enjoy...

I will not be responsible for any unwanted purchases made on basis of these reviews, so if you read this, buy and are unhappy, don't blame me.

PS. I use an iPod touch, but will use the term iPhone, because it's shorter to type...
