Not after the fan patch... Japan and India are relatively controlled following the patch. And you could choose to play vanilla, which is a lot more balanced at the expense of less scale.wumbla wrote:III is WAY too unbalanced

Just to revive this thread, I've been practicing rushing with the Ottomans, as their free settlers and high HP Janissaries make a great combination of rapid economic growth and overpowering attack. Combine that with the Advanced Arsenal and Janissary combat cards, as well as the veteran upgrade available in Age 3, they make the Ottomans a formidable opponent that have the potential to eradicate you by the Fortress age.
My only problem is micromanaging all of my settlers in the beginning, because some maps give you extra resource crates of wood or coin instead of food, which is the most important resource in the Discovery age.

I used to enjoy 1 & 2 back in the day, but 3 was a disappointment and compared to other RTS' out they are pretty weak...
