Even though the amount of shovelware that now sits alongside the good titles is shameful. It still has a few good titles.

The concept was good but the console is slowly tanking. Games like Gears of War, GTA IV, Left 4 Dead, Rock Band, etc. are all still selling well and are getting lots of online use. Too many peripherals are showing Nintendo to be more focused on making money. There is too much shovelware (minigames like Wii Music) to make the Wii into any sort of console that cannot be called a casual one. It has inferior hardware and a hard to use, poorly constructed online system.
The motion sensor controls, while being innovative, are becoming nothing more than a novelty. They are not used to their full potential; ie. people report that playing SSBB with the classic controller or the gamecube controller is actually better than using the Wii controller. That was the complete opposite of what the Wii controller was supposed to be - different, unique, and more fun to use.

Couldn't agree more, Twistkill. Although I'm a Nintendo fanboy through and through, the Wii to me is basically just a vehicle through which I can play Galaxy, Mario Kart Wii, and Brawl, all of which except for Galaxy are much better with a Classic controller, and come to think of it, the only use for the Wiimote in Galaxy is to pick up the little star thingies.
Definitely considering buying a 360.

Yeah. Nintendo are amazing gamemakers, but shoddy system makers. Why make a system that isn't competetively built? The only third-party game I love is DBZ: Budokai Tenkaichi 2. What a game that was, mind.

Yeah, I also agree with Twistkill. Nintendo's first-party titles are good, but to be honest? Half of them are better with a 'cube controller (Prime 3 is really the only exception, since the Wiimote is good for shooting stuff. Which raises the question of why there isn't a slew of FPSs on Wii...)
However, I do have hopes for the Conduit, a Wii-exclusive FPS designed to take full advantage of the motion controls. One of the developers, Eric Nofsinger, specifically cited frustration with the lack of serious 3rd-party games on the Wii as motivation for starting development. He actually pinpoints a lot of the problems with the Wii in this interview, and he seems pretty enthusiastic about the system. Hopefully other developers will take note.
I'm also expecting another F-Zero at some point - there's been one on every Nintendo console since the SNES, and the last one was amazing. Though I've heard some of the Nintendo big-wigs hated it, for some reason...

There really haven't been any third party games that have fully utilized the Wiimote. Actually, there haven't been many first or second party games that have done so either...

These my two major wants for the Wii. I'm not a fan of FPS games, but one good one will fill my "bust a cap in some alien ass" urge. IGN have been all over The Conduit, so let's hope it lives up to the hype.Atilla wrote:However, I do have hopes for the Conduit, a Wii-exclusive FPS designed to take full advantage of the motion controls...

F-Zero, in my eyes, can do no wrong. And let's hope they push the console badly as they pushed the GameCube: 50+ tracks, and vs. 20+ online multiplayer anyone? I'd fund the game myself if it meant additions like that.
Actually, I'm rather looking forward to Klonoa, too. I never played the original, but it looks like an amazing 2.5D platformer that I'd love to get my hands on.

I'm a Nintendo and a Wii fan.
The Wii is a really awesome console, with its amazing Wiimote, amazing looks and amazing interface.
However, like most of you are saying, it has many things that should be better.
- Graphics: I don't really really care for those, as in, the actual graphics seem fine to me. But that is one of main things that draws most of the people I know away from the Wii. "It's weak", "It doesn't have the power of the PS3", they say. And now I can't give the excuse of the price, being the 360 priced at 220€ (I think). Anyways, I still think game developers (mostly, third-party) are underusing (does this word exist?) the graphics capability of the Wii.
- Internet: this is the worse part, and I've only discovered it yesterday. I just connected my Wii to the internet, and, come on, I have to pay 5€ for a browser?(a 2000 points card costs 20€ and the internet channel costs 500 points. Do the math). I still wasn't able of playing a single game on SSBB (although that might be a game problem, I dunno). And, hell, friend enormous codes.
- Peripherals: too many and too expensive. The 480p cable should come with the Wii, and the prices of Wiimotes and Nunchuks should be lowered (come on, I could buy 1 Eee PC's (costs 150€ here) and some stuff for it with the money I would spend on 3 Wiimotes and 3 Nunchuks (that is a must to play with friends). That is a lot of money. And I heard they have now another peripheral to strengthen the Wiimote's precision. Why not built it into the new Wiimotes that are sold, while having the peripheral available just for the old Wiimotes?
- Wiimote's capability: I too think that the Wiimote's capaibilities are being slightly underused, again, by third-party gamers. But I much prefer the Wiimote to play SSBB, it's way more simple ^^, for people who learn to play with it firstly.
But hey, the Wiimote's awesome for playing games like Wario Smooth Moves, FPS's and games like Excite Truck.
There's probably some others, but I can't remember now.
The Wii is sexy.
EDIT: Remembered something: The next game I'm going to buy is Okami, therefore postponing (think this is the right word) Galaxy again.
There's a game that SEGA is developing that looks awesome. I just forgot the name.

I don't game as much as I used to. When I do, I usually play with freinds. They all have Xbox 360s. So when I need my fix, I go over there.
So, I bought a Wii because it was the cheapest and I wanted something to play sporadically. I have Metroid, Galaxy, Red Steel*, and Resident Evil 4, which I got very recently and I'm still playing because it's fantastic.
I don't use the thing much, but there are a few gems out there, and that's all I need. To know that there are even a few more out there, even ones not out yet, is comforting.
*I love this game. It's like a terrible movie you enjoy for all the wrong reasons.

i dont care that a lot of you think it's not as good as it should be, but my wii is my life (aside from my computer, N)
I just have a GBC, GBA, N64, and a Wii. Although i've had it for like 2 years, i really only have SMG, MKW, SPM, SatSR, and NHL 2k9*
I do think is quite a big piece of shit, it still makes up quite a large part of my life
Sadly, i don't have any T rated games because i have a little bro (9) and my parents dont want games to be a big influence on his life which explains why i have only these E games. :(
*Super Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart Wii, Super Paper Mario, Sonic Secret Rings, the last one is self expanitory

My Issue with the Wii is that it does have more power than the last gen consoles yet a lot of games do have worse graphics.
