The new game in the Halo trilogy.

What are your opinions, and what you guys who do have it, think of it?

I find the game brilliant, even with the new aspects, the new campaign layout and story, the new LIVE playlists and the new Firefight gametype.

Post your views and discuss anything related to the game, and indeed the whole trilogy, right here!

Oh my god, it's so good!
Firefight is the goddamn best thing. Ever.

All of you, go out, and buy this game.

Felt rather "meh" to me. Firefight is definitely 100x better than the Campaign, thus giving Firefight a 1x multiplier bonus.

What I'm trying to say is that Firefight is okay, while the Campaign was fucking terrible.

It exceeded my expectations, excellent edition to the halo trilogy. What I've played of the campaign has been amazing so far, I can't imagine why you think it's terrible.

Anyways, we should play firefight sometime OJ. If we're ever on at the same time that is <_<

Good points

> Completely epic campaign, the set pieces from each respective level certainly had a bigger impact than the equivalents in Halo 3.
> Firefight rocks, maps are well balanced, yadayadayada.
> Halo 3 Mythic Disk makes it a great first time purchase.
> Engineers. Really add tactical depth when you face them, since you can't just blow them apart most of the time.
> Virgil! <3 <3 <3

Bad points
> Dumb AI. I'd love having to outwit the opponent instead of blowing them apart. If the covenant were worth their socks they'd have at least made the brutes assume tactical positions or fall back.
> Rookie Sections start to grate a little (only after the first few playthroughs, mind)
> Too short. The best campaign levels were over in about half an hour, including deaths.
> Unglitchable. Breaking out of the game was half the fun, imho. :(
> Nothing new (apart from Engineers). The ODST was basically master chief by different means, and apart from the massive banshee level, there wasn't anything that hadn't been more or less covered. A Locust sniping level, or securing and defending a Cobra would have been cool, although hard to fit in.

Good points. I haven't really thought about the flaws, to be honest.

TFK, Firefight sounds good, but yeah, time difference is a pain in the arse. What's the time difference between where you are and where I am?

I don't really see what's so bad about the campaign, Tornado. Oh, I also had your gamertag once. But I lost it.

I don't have an Xbox 360, nor would I have Xbox Live if I ever got a 360, but Firefight looks awesome. I'm not sure if I can say the same thing about the campaign, but Firefight is what I've always wanted in Halo.

I sure wish there was Halo 3 for PC.

I fucking love this game. I actually got the Chasm Ten achievement last night, you know, where you get 200,000 points in firefight. Sure, the guy I was playing with and I were playing on Easy, but we wanted to make sure we got it. Man, easy gets HARD near the end. My score

Snuggletummy, I had your account too once.

No shit, dude. I swear solo firefight on heroic or legendary is impossible. I tried Chasm Ten on legendary solo yesterday. By the second reinforcements all the enemies had some kind of regenerating overshield or something. Somehow I got past the first wave.

We should totally play firefight sometime, dude. Me, TFK, The Kestrel, and you. Sexy. I got the achievement on Alpha Site with my mate - we got onto the last set round of the last set of last wave -__________________________-

TFK. If you posted your last message at 4:04 pm, that means you're seven hours behind me. (I'm very good at maths, as you can clearly see.) Unless you're on really late, or you play at like 7 in the morning, it should be cool one day.

Loved what I've played of it. Great to see the Firefly actors getting work, and the game was fun and told a story in a way that I found interesting (I find most of the Halo plots to be a bore.) Of course, this is all campaign; I haven't been properly introduced to any of the multiplayer modes.

I don't care what you say, 4 people on normal is the only way to do this. (So far almost all of our high point games have ended on the last wave of set 4, with 1 game going to the last wave of set 5)

Who the hell said anything about easy being the only way of doing it? I can't always get 4 people to play with me, and I wanted to play it with 2 people. Either way, don't be an asshole, it's not a good way to make yourself look cool.

Just now, beat it on heroic. Now to do it on Legendary.

Man I love this game. They did a really good job on this one. To bad I don't have Live. :(

I played Firefight with a couple of friends recently. It was fun, except for those random Brutes with the Gravity Hammer that tank like a fucking tank. I thought ODST would make me play differently what with me not being the Master Chief and all, but I found rushing in like I normally would works pretty much the same. Plus the pistol is like the old pistol from the first Halo <3
